The guys over at journaldugamer.com report about the PS3 Midnight Launch in Paris, close to the Eiffel tower.
With less than 100 consoles sold out of the 1000 units available you can probably talk about another PR disaster for our friends at Sony. Actually it looks like the most entertaining part of the 'event' was Microsoft crashing the party with a boat on the Seine (river) with a huge banner saying "Xbox 360 Loves You" for all PS3 buyers and press to see.

00h09: First PS3 sold! ... but there's about 3x more press than customers. The 1st buyer tells the press he bought the PS3 for the Blu-ray drive and HD, but in the 1st place to install Linux on it...

00h39: All customers in line got their PS3 ... 39mins after opening the shop they have to close back already. ~60 PS3s sold about 940 left in stock.

It's a cold Thursday night of course in europe ... so it's maybe not the best day to do a midnight launch (kids got school, people have to work (to get those 600eurs)) ... I hope for Sony they'll do better during the day.
